Dream like Photos

AnnAfor this picture i took an old photo i had from the fashion shoot and put together several layers of my purple/blue texture in the background so it looked like she was in some weird crazy place. I adjusted different opacity's for all levels.

HannaH
This photo is again an old one from a previous shoot, i added a speckled purple/gray texture to it and used one layer to erase her face and another layer to add slight texture so it would not stand out too much but you could still make out her features.

Polka Dots
This picture was taken when i was in Wales last summer, i decided to add a weird pink texture to the rocks and keep everything else the same. i thought it was interesting because its small but very noticeable, makes you think twice.

Rough Waters
This is the same photo as above, but this time i manipulated the water. i added a different gray/blue background and lightened the opacity in order to give it a very wavey and dark stormy dream effect.

Sunsets Escape
In this photo i added a crinkled texture to only the top of the photo in order to intensify the sunset. i liked how her hands were up i think it added to the dream like effect.

Mount. Snowden
This was also taken in wales, on our way down a mountain. I added an actual texture to make it seem out of the world and unlike any other mountain most people have climbed.

Cliffs Dreams
For this one i added a very intense dark texture and then erased a part of it along the mountain line to add a glowing effect. i liked how it made the picture dark and stormy.

Journal #1 2014

Journal Entry #1

1.  I think i have improved on taking more interesting and artistic photos. For example i'll wait till the perfect time to take a picture instead of rushing to take a bad one. I also know how to adjust the white balance incase the photo I'm taking is too dark or light and I also use the color options more on my camera to fit the scene of what I'm taking a picture of.

2.  I enjoy taking pictures of the beach and skies, preferably during, or just after sunset. I also like taking pictures of the water at night because of how dark and mysterious it looks with the moon. I also enjoy taking pictures with flags because i like the movement and how you can frame different scenes behind the flags.

3. I think an interesting subject, thoughtful composition, rule of thirds, nicely proportioned subjects all make up good photos.

4. I'm interested in learning more about other photographers and their styles of taking pictures. I'm also excited to work in the darkroom more and learning about new techniques for making up interesting photos.
